A variation is a new route created under an existing ride title and anyone can create a new variation if the bunch ride is "Open" or they have been accepted to join the ride (Restricted).
When a variation is created for the first time, the new route has been “cut”. to commence form the same starting point of the original bunch ride. A variation can travel in any direction BUT must commence from the same starting point of the existing ride title.
An example is the North Road Ride (the ride title) and the variation (a brief description of the route) Mordy finish St Kilda BP
