Saving your GPX file to your Garmin Computer

1. Find your GPX File

a. Open the file

After downloading your GPX file, the location will depend on your device type:

  • iOS: Tap the file download prompt. The file should automatically open in the appropriate app or display sharing options.

  • Android: Open your Files app and search for "Bunchrides" (or the name of the downloaded file). GPX files may be saved with random strings—sort by most recent to locate it quickly.

b. Save/Share the file

Once you've located the GPX file:

a. Open or Share the File

  • Android: Long-press the file name to bring up options. Select Open with or Share—this may vary by phone.

  • iOS: Tap the file and follow the prompts to share or open it.

b. Share to Garmin Connect

  • Ensure the Garmin Connect app is installed on your device.

  • From the sharing menu, select Garmin Connect.

  • Garmin Connect will automatically detect it's a course file and prompt you to save it.

c. Open Garmin Connect and navigate to courses

  • Open the Garmin Connect app.

  • Go to More > Training > Courses.

  • You’ll see the GPX file listed as a new course. You can rename or edit it if needed.



3. Sync the course to your Garmin device

To sync the course:

  • Make sure your Garmin device is paired via Bluetooth with your phone.

  • In Garmin Connect, tap the course, then select Send to Device.

  • The next time your Garmin syncs (automatically or manually), the course will appear on your device.

Once synced, navigate to Courses on your Garmin cycling computer, select the route, and start riding!
